About The Wing

The Social Forestry wing of the Telangana Forest Department aims to increase the state's green cover from 24% to 33%, in alignment with the National Forest Policy. To achieve this, the branch employs a strategy of extensive plantation both within and outside designated forest areas, as well as the rejuvenation of degraded natural forests. The initiative seeks to engage various government departments and community groups in planting activities, with the dual goals of creating a significant carbon sink and raising widespread awareness about environmental conservation.
